BREASTFEEDING

Breastfeeding is not a choice.

Every single human baby is born with the biological expectation and need of being nurtured with soft breasts and breastmilk. Breastfeeding is a necessity.

Yes, there will be some women who truly can not breastfeed. In older times, babies would be wetnursed by another woman. Anything less resulted in babies prone to illnesses or death.

That is still the case as nothing artificial can come close to the living food that breastmilk is, nor the growth and development that the act of breastfeeding helps with.

The undrugged newborn is the one most close to the primal instincts that come with the biological norm of what it is to be human.

From birth, babies and their mothers are closely intertwined in a biological response. Babies are able to identify and move towards their mothers breasts and latch on without assistance. All that is required is skin to skin contact and time to do this within the first hour of birth.

Establishment of breastfeeding within the first hour of birth and constant skin to skin contact starting immediately after birth and for as long as possible will help to establish a basis for problem-free long term breastfeeding.

The lost wimmin's mysteries of breastfeeding has to do with the state of being called motherbaby, and the destruction of childbirth as one of the sacred wimmin's rites.

See Mothering for the motherbaby concept.

Many women have lost the ability to start the breastfeeding relationship while in the primal state thanks to how the birthing process has been disturbed and medicalised. See Childbirth
